London Christmas Markets 2023
Christmas is a special time of year, and in London, there are plenty of ways to get into the Christmas spirit!
There are markets all over the city, selling everything from handmade gifts to festive food and drink. You can also enjoy seeing London’s Christmas lights, listening to carols and Christmas music, as well as taking part in seasonal activities like ice skating.
So if you’re looking to get into the Christmas spirit this year, be sure to visit London and experience all that its markets have to offer. Also whilst you are there be sure to check out some of the nearby theme parks and these great things to do in London.
Here are a few of my favourite Christmas markets in London and all the London Christmas market dates that you need to know…

1. Winter Wonderland, Hyde Park, London
For a truly magical festive experience, head to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park, London. With over 100 traditional wooden chalets and stalls selling unique handmade gifts and decorations, you’ll find something to please even the most discerning of shoppers.
The market also offers plenty of festive entertainment, with an ice skating rink, Christmas parties, fairground rides, circus shows, and plenty of food and drink stalls to keep you going throughout the day.
Winter Wonderland Dates 2023
Open: Winter Wonderland is open from 17th November 2023 – 1st January 2024. Open 7 days a week from 10 am-10 pm, except Christmas Day.
Admission: Entry tickets start at £5, certain events and activities require separate tickets.

Parking Facilities: The nearest car park is Q-Park (Park Lane, W1K 7TY), which is a 24/7 secure car park.
2. Southbank Christmas Market
For a more traditional German-style market experience, head to Southbank Christmas Market.
This market is full of festive atmosphere, with a selection of stalls selling handmade gifts and decorations, as well as traditional German food and drink and lots of mulled wine!
There’s also a carousel for the kids and plenty of live music and entertainment throughout the day. Plus you can enjoy beautiful views of the Thames, the London Eye, Big Ben, and St Paul’s Cathedral as you stroll along Southbank. It’s one of my favourite walks in London.
The Southbank Christmas market is truly one of the best Christmas markets in England in 2023.

Open: The market is open from 11 am to 10 pm every day from October 28, 2023 – January 7, 2024

Parking Facilities: There is no parking here. The nearest train and tube station to the Southbank Centre is Waterloo.
3. Leicester Square Christmas Market
For something a little different, check out Leicester Square’s Christmas Market. This vibrant market has over 100 stalls selling unique gifts from local arts and crafts makers, plus plenty of delicious street food to keep you going while you shop!
There are also regular cabaret shows taking place throughout the festive season.
In my opinion, this is the best Christmas market in London. I visited this market last year and had a great time. I can’t wait to check it out again this year!

4. Bristol Christmas Market
Bristol’s Christmas Market is a German-style market located in the Bristol city centre. It is one of the best markets in the UK and is open from late November until Christmas Eve. The market features over 50 stalls selling a variety of goods, including German-inspired food such as curry bratwurst. As well as a selection of festive drinks, beautiful gifts, and decorations.
I’m originally from Bristol so I go to this market every year, I really believe that it is one of the best British Christmas markets. It’s become a real Christmas tradition for me and really gets me into the Christmas spirit.
Bristol’s Christmas Market is a great place to find unique gifts for friends and family, and the festive atmosphere is sure to get you into the Christmas spirit. There is also regular live music, a large bar area complete with fun igloos, and even an animatronic singing reindeer to keep you amused!

This historic city is home to one of the most atmospheric Christmas markets in the country. With over 100 chalets spread across Bath Abbey and The Roman Baths, it’s the perfect place to find unique presents and soak up the festive atmosphere.
Bath Christmas market is full of beautiful handmade gifts and decorations, plus a variety of delicious food and drink stalls. You’ll also find live music, festive workshops, and even an ice rink to enjoy!

With over 120 wooden chalets selling everything from handcrafted gifts to delicious food and drink. You can munch on roasted chestnuts and dates whilst shopping for festive goods and admiring all the beautiful lights and the large Christmas tree and decorations.
Plus, there is live music, festive workshops, and plenty of entertainment to keep you entertained throughout the festive period.
Whilst you are in Birmingham there are lots of things to do both in the city itself and in the surrounding areas. For example, you can visit the beautiful Dovedale stepping stones which are within easy reach on a day trip.
